When we started work, this was a slightly shabby one-story house that still retained traces of its original beauty. We raised the first floor by two feet (allowing us to achieve a full 8-foot ceiling height in the basement, where we built a complete mother-in-law unit) and added a second-story addition. We filled the house with custom built-in shelving, bookcases, cabinetry, banisters, columns, and ceiling details to bring the Craftsman-style beauty back to life.
